Hello everyone. I have so many flower stamps that I have never used and I always hesitate to use them, because they might not be available. Most bloggers and YouTubers use the latest releases. But then I have never been a blogger that uses the latest releases anyway, took my stamps out and I’m on a mission to use them all and make some cards. The problem is that these stamps might not be available, but then my blog is more about inspiration and for that you don’t need to have the exact stamps. But I still wanted to do something for these cards and that something is use of different colouring medium or technique. This way, if you haven’t use this colouring medium for a while, you might get inspired. For this card I’m using the “Say It With Flowers” stamp set by Clearly Besotted, there are two bouquet in the stamp set and I’m using only one of them. Clearly Besotted has this stamp set on their website for sale, however for some reason, they sell only one of the bouquets, the one I’m colouring here. The colouring medium I chose for this car are the Zig brush markers. These are water based markers, which means you can use them as they are, like you would use alcohol markers, or you can use them with watercolours and that’s what I’m going to do. I have the pack of 24 and I picked few colours that I thought will fit the flowers, I also have one extra dark red that is not in the pack. If you don’t have the Zigs, any water based markers will do. And since I’m watercolouring I’m using the Canson XL watercolour card stock, it works quite well with the Zigs. When it comes to the card stock and the brush markers like Zigs, I sometimes have problems getting the colour move. If you have such problems as well then try changing the card stock. E.g. the watercolour card stock from Ranger didn’t work for me, so I changed it to the Canson XL. I stamped the image using the Versafine ink in Onyx Black and started colouring. I stamped it together with the sentiment. I’m using a sentiment from another stamp set by Clearly Besotted, but this one is no longer available. I decided to create a card for mother’s day, but you can use what ever sentiment you want. Th reason why I’m making a card for Mother’s Day, is because in the UK and Ireland this day is celebrated in March, so I wanted to inspire those who are from these countries. I started colouring. The way I use the Zigs and other brush markers as well, I apply the colour to the bottom of the petal or the leaf and with a wet brush I bring to clour to the top. I started colouring. The way I use the Zigs and other brush markers as well, I apply the colour to the bottom of the petal or the leaf and with a wet brush I bring to clour to the top. Once I was finished, I let the piece dry and then I run it through my die-cutting machine, using a stitched rectangular die. And then I adhered it directly on top of a side folding card base that I created from a kraft card stock. This is one of my simpler cards, no foam tape, no embellishments, but if you want to make the card more fancy, you can of course add those. Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed this card and that you will give your Zig brush markers a try. SUPPLIES Disclaimer: I’m currently not using any affiliate links.
